Rockstar Games – 2012

I was the Lead Multiplayer Level Designer on Max Payne 3. I worked with two other level designers to create the multiplayer levels. The levels were built to repurpose single player art as much as possible, as art was a bottleneck on the project, though modified to allow more freedom required for satisfying multiplayer gameplay. The levels were built to focus on Max Payne’s unique movement and bullet time ability, focusing on verticality, cover, and jumps that would allow players to perform cinematic kills. A mix of tight corridors and open areas provide room for a wide variety of playstyles. The game mode, Gang Wars had a branching story and game modes based on what teams win matches in the story.
